DESCRIPTION:
Quillaja Powder (QP) is a the fine ground
powder of the Quillaja saponaria tree, rich
in triterpenic saponins and polyphenols.
REGULATORY INFORMATION:
Quillaja saponaria Mol. is approved for
use in food and beverages by the FDA under
21 CFR 172.510, FEMA GRAS number 2973. It
is approved for its use in the European
Union in water-based non-alcoholic drinks,
under code E 999. Current CAS number: 68990-67-0.
RECOMMENDED USES:
Feed additive in cattle, swine, poultry
and companion animals. Main benefits are:-
Odor reduction (ammonia binding)- Cholesterol
reduction in eggs- Immune response enhancement-
Alternative to antibiotics as growth promoter.
